Last week, I became a grandma (again!) when my 20 year old daughter gave birth to her first child, a beautiful, happy and healthy girl. (On the Virgo moon, no doubt!)
I was so excited to get on social media and post pics for family and friends to see but when I did, I noticed a lot of angry vitriolic comments about that evening’s police shootings in Dallas. It made my heart hurt to see this and it put me into a state of confusion...how could such a beautiful life event be happening during such a time of political and civil upheaval?
I’ve been contemplating it all along…
I believe that when we incarnate, we choose our timing. And I also believe my granddaughter chose this precise moment to come into this reality because she has a very important mission here: to LOVE and to be loved. To teach others about the meaning of love, to learn for herself how to spread the love. Her act of being born was courageous and will change the world.
As will all the babies being born during this NN Virgo transit. We come in as soul groups, and this astrological phenomena is what designates one soul group from another.
To understand what I’m saying, I think I need to explain a NN transit?
NN/SN are the nodes of the moon and they represent on the mundane level (global astrology) our collective destiny and our collective karma, respectively. I read a blog post recently that the NN is everyone’s manifesto, and I like this because it gives credence to the notion that we incarnate in groups-- the NN will tell your soul grouping, and it will tell you a little bit about your purpose for your incarnation during your time here.
This manifesto can describe the soul group’s purpose, but it can also give you an idea of what your personal soul work-load will look like during the time of any specific transit. If you want to get an idea of what that work looks like, simply find out where Virgo lies in your chart and you will see some themes begin to emerge for you. I’ll explain more of this later...but for now, let’s talk about the mundane aspects…
Now, a nodal transit lasts roughly 18-19 months, so we are currently ramping up toward the midway point of the current NN transit, and as we do so, we start to notice how the themes of Virgo are playing out in our journey toward collective destiny.
As the NN transits Virgo, the themes of this zodiac sign will be activated. Virgo, to me, is all about the Priestess archetype and what I think of here is one who has sworn an oath of service, in devotion to her Goddess and her community. She is the one who will hold your hand through the darkness, (the darkness being or meaning unawares, not having the knowledge/ experience/ etc…) and take you to the final illumination.
So many of us are feeling this right now, because (again, as above, so below) while this is happening on the global scale, it is also being activated within us. This calling to purge what does not serve, to purify ourselves and to discern right from wrong.
The Virgo archetype is also associated with our health and when we take a look at the global health, there are a lot of places that are sick right now. I believe this unrest that we are feeling on the collective level is the festering wounds of having repressed the care and nurturing of our needs for far too long.
In America, this is playing out in our BlackLivesMatter movement and police corruption, the gun control debates and in our political campaign arenas. Globally we are experiencing unrest with things like Brexit, Syrian refugees, the attack in Nice on Bastille day, and in our response to the terrorists groups Deash.
So much happening, and if we remain unaware of what this NN transit in Virgo means, we will continue to react instead of respond.
Complicating matters here is the fact that, in tandem, SN is transiting Pisces. This axis works together to bring us to our destiny, but also provides a bit of trouble if we choose to resist the Virgo nudgings. bEcause the South Node represents the past, what has already happened, it also means we are familiar with it and normally, we’ll tend to hang out here because it is comfortable. (It doesn’t matter if it is right or wrong...there is comfort in the familiar) So the themes we are clinging to include that Unity conscious of
This is scary for so many of us because we are not yet awake that we are on this journey to claim our destiny, and whenever there is fear, there seems to be some resistance. Can we claim our destiny, will we be safe doing so?
I also believe there is always purpose in our pain. I also believe that this is the year all who have sworn an oath to protect and serve are being called to a higher order. This includes everyone from the police, civil servants, anyone in uniform (military, fire depts, nurses, chefs...) and even our spiritual community of Priests and Priestesses...
So...what can you do about it?
A few things:
1) understand that as we shift the collective consciousness, a lot of things are going to surface that will cause us to take a second look….Be aware of what is happening and then you can start to discern for yourself why and how to participate.
2) Notice when you are triggered...understand what has been triggered and ask yourself why...does this tie back to an outdated belief or is it something that is new and of use to you and the collective?
3) Respond, don’t react. Virgo is all about discernment...we can apply discernment in our responses, but a reaction is chaotic and messy and causes more of the same. Virgo wants us to be precise and of service.
4) Finally, understand that on the collective we need to pay attention to the areas that are healthy just as much as we need to cut out the illness so it doesn’t spread. Preventive care is just as important as tending to our wounds.
